The effect of acid rain on our trees
Acid rain is one out of several things that cause the dying of trees.
In Germany the main things responsible for the dying of trees are the energie industry and the road traffic.
Because of car emissions and others released by the burning of wood and cole the air pollution allowance is
beeing exceeded for a long time.
Through the trunk harmful substances get into the leaves.
It destroys their tiny openings on the surface, too much water evaporates.
That weakens the tree and it dries out faster.
There are four levels of destruction in fur trees.
At first, pines get yellow at the top, then more and more branches get yellow and turn into brown.
The tree dies and in the final there is a withered tree.
We have to protect our trees so that we can nurse our world back to health!
During one year a hundred year old tree filters about one ton of dust and exhaust emissions.
'Between all living things there is an ecological balance which will only remain, if every part of it stays healthy'
